• 2005: the consortium of Attijariwafabank and Grupo Santander Bank acquired 53.54% of Banque du Sud in Tunisia. Under the control and the management of ATW, Banque du Sud will ultimately become Attijariwafabank Tunisia with a market share of 9% both in deposits and loans, and a network of 92 branches all over Tunisia.
• June 2006: Attijariwafabank invested in a green field bank project in Senegal and opened 3 ATW branches in Dakar.
• October 2006: Attijariwafabank has announced the purchase of 67% stake of Banque Sénégalo Tunisienne. BST is the 5th largest bank in Senegal, with a market share of 7% both in deposits and loans. This new acquisition will grant ATW a stronger position in the West African banking and financial sector.
Attijariwafabank boasts of 33 international representation offices outside morocco.
