Main historical dates :

 

1919 Compagnie Générale de Transport et de Tourisme (CGTT) is established.
1928 CGTT becomes the exclusive agent for General Motors in Morocco until 1945.
1930 CGTT beging mining research and exploitation activities.
1934 CGTT becomes Omnium Nord Africain (ONA).
1982-1985 The Group acquired invests in various sectors including milk & fresh dairy          products, sugar, edible oils, banking, shipping, chemical and textile.
1986 Acquires a stake in Lesieur Afrique;  
         Acquires nearly 40% of Banque Commerciale du Maroc;
         Acquires a stake in Compagnie Africaine d'Assurances.
1989 Launch of the second Moroccan TV channel 2M and structuring of the multimedia          segment.
         Launch of 2M, Morocco's second television channel and the multimedia division is          restructured;
1990 The first Marjane hypermarket, Marjane Bouregreg opens.
1993 Acquires Optorg.
1995 ONA S.A listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
1995-1997 Strategy refocused on core businesses including mining, building materials,          food manufacturing, distribution, banking and insurance.
1999 ONA acquires control of SNI;
         Managem embarks on an international growth strategy;
         Partnership with DANONE strengthened.
2001 Partnership agreement with AUCHAN.
2002 Launch of the Acima supermarket chain.
2003 Rotation of ONA / SNI holdings;
        SNI becomes ONA's main shareholder's with a 29.84% stake.
2004 ONA increases its stake in Attijariwafa bank;
         New growth drivers are identified-telecoms, real state, energy and the          environment.
2005 Morocco's third mobile phone licence awarded to Maroc Connect;
         Nareva is established;
         Attijariwafa bank acquires a 53.54 % stake in Banque du sud.
2006 Maroc Connect changes name to Wana;
         Obtains a 3G licence;
         Attijariwafa bank acquires 66.7% stake in BST.
2007 Acquires from Auchan its 49% stake in Marjane and Acima;
         Sale of 49% of Axa-ONA;
         Sale of Monégasque Maroc.
